They Are All So B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!
Hey all! You're here again and I say... THANK YOU!
Things are happening! But nothing you don't already know about but we are making progress with the many many...many things I have taken on and have started knocking things out left and right! But this also means that I have sloooooowed down immensely on reading this month which is a bummer but adulting and such. My current read is Nevernight and I'm still not sure where my head is when it comes to it. Mind you I've only read about 100 pages of it.
But we're here to discuss Beautiful Player by one of my faves, Christina Lauren! These women really can do no wrong in my eyes. Their story telling skills are on point and even their books that I am not completely obsessed with I enjoy more then the average romance read. If you haven't read anything by these ladies you need to pick up the closest book of theirs and dig in immediately.
SO! Beautiful Player is the third book in the Beautiful Bastard series. Now one of my favorite things about C.L. is they write "series" but for the most part every book can be read as a stand alone as well. So in this book we have Hanna who believes sex isn't amazing and while she is experienced she's a bit awkward but intelligent and very honest. And Will who is one of her brother's close friends. When her brother expresses concern that Hanna is too focused on school he encourages to reach out to his playboy friend named Will to help get her outta her comfort zone. The book is then about how their relationship goes from platonic friends (barely that) to helping Hanna break into dating more to causally hooking up to being head over heels to each other. Now overall I quite enjoyed this one. But while I loved Will and the fact his falling in love changes him on so many levels. I didn't dig Hanna as much as I hoped. I kinda felt like her character played back in forth between being confident and asking about porn in the middle of a bar and being this unsure and super quick to judge/not talk to Will about their problems. So I was a little split on Hanna but I did enjoy their chemistry and I loved their intimate scenes. Like I said Christina Lauren knows how to write a truly stunning and tastefully raunchy romance read. I gave the book four stars on Goodreads and in life three and half because besides the adult scenes nothing was super unique about the story but its extremely well written and so that makes a huge difference of course.
These pages take me places and I already know where we are going next. The Red Church.... I'm already there!
Thank you for coming back and can't wait til next time!
All the best!
